Well, I am about up to here with the fact that every time I go to my refrigerator to pull out a delicious green cucumber to chop up and toss in my salad, I am yet again repulsed by the grossness of my poor cucumber. Yet, again today I tossed a whole cucumber away that I paid for, and have only had in my refrigerator for 3 days. This is sad, to say the least.
These cucumbers are the one's I have been purchasing at my local grocery stores. The reason I normally shop for my produce at these stores, is because it is so convenient.
I am a busy Mom with two small children and the last thing I need to do is run around to different stores to buy different items on my very long grocery list.
But alas! I also have the desire to have fresh produce that keeps in my refrigerator for longer than 3 days! Is that too much to ask??
So here in lies the problem. Where do I go for fresh produce? My local produce stand of course!
Yes, I may be making an extra trip or stop to have the freshness that I so long for in my salads, but at least I will have some sense of comfort, because my cucumbers will be fresh, crispy and delicious for longer than 3 days.
